When you need to turn what’s happening into a plan.

  • You understand the concerns, but aren’t sure what should happen next.
  • There are several things affecting your child’s experience of school and you need to bring them together.
  • Support has been tried, but it feels piecemeal or lacks a clear direction.
  • You’ve got information from school or other professionals but need help turning it into something practical.
  • There are lots of possible next steps and you’re struggling to decide what matters most.
  • You want a clear plan that reflects your child, rather than a generic list of strategies.
  • What’s working
  • The strengths, successes and existing support we don’t want to lose sight of.
  • What’s getting in the way
  • The main barriers affecting learning, participation, wellbeing or your child’s experience of school.
  • What matters most now
  • A small number of priorities, rather than trying to tackle everything at once.
  • What could help
  • Practical strategies, adjustments, questions, conversations or further exploration that make sense for your child’s situation.
  • What happens next
  • Clear next steps, including who you may need to speak to and what might need reviewing later.

We might work across several areas, or decide that one or two things need our attention first.

  • Strengths and areas of difficulty
  • Barriers to learning
  • Reasonable adjustments
  • Teaching approaches or adaptations
  • Support with organisation and independence
  • Things that are already working and should continue
  • Existing SEND support
  • Current provision and interventions
  • Recommendations from other professionals
  • What has and hasn’t helped
  • Gaps or questions worth exploring
  • Priorities to discuss with school
  • School anxiety or overwhelm
  • Attendance difficulties
  • Sensory or environmental barriers
  • Friendships and relationships
  • Transitions during the school day
  • Regulation, breaks and opportunities to reset
  • Moving class or changing teacher
  • Transition between schools
  • Returning after a period of absence
  • Changes in your child’s needs
  • New assessments or professional advice
  • What should be reviewed, and when

Before we meet

When you book, I’ll ask you to tell me about your child, what’s happening at the moment, what’s already been tried and what you’d most like the planning session to help with.

You can also send me the documents that are most relevant to the situation- perhaps a current school support plan, recent professional report, school information or recommendations you’re trying to make sense of.

I’ll read the relevant information before we meet so that we can use our time for planning rather than simply going through paperwork together.

This includes a reasonable review of the key documents needed for the planning session, rather than an unlimited document review. If you have a particularly large bundle of paperwork, I’ll let you know beforehand what will be most useful to send.

2

During the two hours

We’ll start by bringing together what you know about your child and the information I’ve reviewed beforehand. We’ll identify what’s working, where the main barriers seem to be and which things need our attention first.

From there, we’ll build the plan. We’ll think about realistic priorities, what could help, questions or conversations that need to happen and how you’ll know whether things are moving in the right direction.

You’ll be involved in the planning throughout. I won’t disappear after the call and produce something you’ve had no part in shaping.

3

After we meet

After the session, I’ll bring our work together into your personalised written educational plan and send it to you electronically.

It will capture the priorities we’ve identified, the things that could help, the next steps we’ve agreed and anything that needs to be explored or reviewed further.

You’ll have a clear document to come back to and use in future conversations about your child’s education.

This is a practical SRO Education planning document rather than a formal assessment report, EHCP, IEP or school SEN Support Plan.

What’s included in the £175?

  • Review of the key relevant information you provide
  • Two-hour online planning session

  • What’s working well
  • The main barriers we’ve identified
  • Support or approaches already being used
  • Relevant information from school or other professionals
  • The plan starts with your child, not with what’s “wrong”.

  • You’ll be able to see the journey from “this is what’s happening” to “this is what we’re doing next”.

No. The personalised educational plan we create is an independent SRO Education document for you. It doesn’t replace an EHCP or any plan your child’s school or local authority is responsible for.

Its purpose is much more practical: to bring together what we know, identify the things that matter most and give you a clear way forward.

No. Your child doesn’t need a diagnosis, an EHCP or to be on the SEND register.

Educational planning can be useful whenever there’s enough going on that it would help to bring the different pieces together and decide what to focus on next.

When you book, I’ll explain what information would be useful. This might include a current school support plan, a recent professional report, school information or recommendations you’ve already received.

Send the things that are most relevant rather than everything you have. If I’m not sure what’s useful, I’ll ask.

The £175 includes a reasonable review of the key information needed for our planning session. It isn’t an unlimited document-review service.

If you have a particularly large amount of paperwork, let me know. I can help you decide what’s most useful for this session, and I’ll tell you beforehand if what you’re asking for would need a different service.

I can use relevant information from an EHCP to help us understand the wider educational picture, but a detailed review of the EHCP itself isn’t the purpose of this service.

If you want focused help reviewing an EHCP or preparing for an Annual Review, my EHCP & SEND Review Meeting Preparation service is likely to be a better fit.

Absolutely. The plan belongs to you, and you’re welcome to share it with school or another professional working with your child if you think it would be useful.

It doesn’t instruct the school what it must provide, but it can give you a clear starting point for a conversation about your child’s strengths, needs, priorities and what might help.

Not as part of the Educational Planning Session. This service is between you and me, and I won’t contact your child’s school simply because you’ve booked.

We can, however, use the session to think about what you’d like to discuss with school and how you might approach that conversation.

I’ll normally send your completed personalised educational plan within five working days of our session.

I want it to properly reflect what we’ve discussed, so I’ll use the work we’ve done together to bring everything into a clear, usable document rather than sending you a generic template.

That’s normal. A useful educational plan shouldn’t be treated as something that’s fixed forever.

You can come back to it, update your priorities and adapt what you’re doing as your child develops or circumstances change. If something significant changes and you’d like further input from me, we can talk about whether another session would actually be useful.

If the information you send beforehand makes it clear that another SRO Education service would be a much better fit, I’ll tell you before we meet rather than knowingly use your time on the wrong thing.

And if I think free support or another professional would be more appropriate, I’ll tell you that too.

If you need help making sense of what’s happening.
If you’ve got an important review or meeting coming up.
If you need support along the way and more than one session.
