  • What you’d like the meeting to achieve and what you need to be clearer about by the time it finishes.

Before we meet

When you book, I’ll ask you what the meeting is for, when it’s happening and what you’d most like help preparing for.

You can send me the key documents that are directly relevant to the meeting. For an EHCP Annual Review, that might include the current EHCP and review paperwork. For a SEND Support Review, it might be your child’s current support plan alongside another particularly relevant piece of information.

You don’t need to send me a bundle of documentI’ll look through the relevant information before we meet so that we can use our hour to prepare rather than simply reading paperwork together.

2

During the hour

We’ll work through the meeting together, starting with what’s happening for your child now and anything important that’s changed.

We’ll identify the points you most want to raise, prepare the questions you want to ask and think carefully about what you’re hoping the meeting will achieve.

If there’s a lot to cover, I’ll help you prioritise it so that the most important things don’t get lost.

This is your preparation session, so we’ll spend the time on the things that matter most to you and your child.

3

After our session

I’ll send you a concise, personalised meeting preparation summary based on the work we’ve done together.

It will capture your key priorities, the points you want to raise, the questions you’ve prepared and the things you want to make sure are clarified during the meeting.

Something simple enough to have beside you when the meeting actually happens.

I also know that school staff may bring information or perspectives you haven’t heard before. Preparation isn’t about deciding exactly how the meeting should end before it starts- it’s about helping you take part confidently while staying open to the conversation.

Yes, where it’s relevant to preparing for an Annual Review. We can use the current EHCP and other key information to identify the things you want to discuss, questions you have and anything that’s changed for your child.

What I’m not providing through this service is a detailed legal or technical audit of the EHCP.

No. This service is about getting you ready for the meeting rather than attending it with you.

We’ll use our hour beforehand to organise your thoughts, identify your priorities and prepare the questions you want to ask, so you can go into the meeting feeling clearer about what you want to discuss.

Send the key information that’s directly relevant to the meeting rather than everything you have about your child.

I’ll review a reasonable amount of relevant information as part of the £95 service. If there’s a particularly large amount of paperwork, let me know and I’ll help you decide what’s most useful for us to focus on.

No. I can help you understand the educational information in front of you, think about your child’s current experience and identify things you want to ask or clarify at the meeting.

I don’t provide legal advice or a legal compliance review of an EHCP. If that’s what you need, I’ll be clear about it and point you towards appropriate specialist support where I can.

I can help you understand the educational picture, think about the support your child is receiving and prepare questions about provision, progress and next steps.

I won’t provide legal advice about what a school or local authority is legally required to provide. Where a question needs specialist SEND legal advice rather than educational guidance, I’ll say so.

I’ll send you a personalised Meeting Preparation Summary capturing the priorities we’ve identified, the key points you want to raise, your prepared questions and the things you want clarified during the meeting.

It’s designed to be practical- something you can have open beside you and refer back to while the meeting is happening.

Ideally, book your preparation session at least three working days before your school meeting. That gives us time to meet and for me to send your Meeting Preparation Summary afterwards.

You’re welcome to book further ahead too, particularly if you already have the relevant paperwork.

If your meeting is less than three working days away, get in touch before booking. If I have availability and there’s enough time for the service to be genuinely useful, I’ll let you know.

I don’t want you paying for preparation that has to be rushed simply because the meeting is tomorrow.

Yes. The service can also be useful for SEND Support Reviews and other important SEND-focused meetings with school.

If you’re unsure whether your particular meeting fits, send me a message or book a free Clarity Call and I’ll help you work out whether this is the right service.

That’s outside the scope of this service. SRO Education provides independent educational advice and preparation rather than legal advocacy, representation or tribunal support.

If it becomes clear that specialist legal advice or advocacy is what you actually need, I’ll tell you rather than try to provide something outside my role.

If you need help making sense of the wider situation.
If you’re concerned about your child getting into school, or staying there.
If you need a plan, not just a conversation.
